Potatoes wilted

Potato blight most likely

I think potato blight most unlikely. We have not had the requisite weather conditions (smith periods) and no blight warnings have been issued in the UK as far as I am aware.
Are there any other symptoms on the stems or foliage?0 -
Some local blight conditions have been around during the last week, depends where the OP lives

But blight is a fungal disease which you'd expect to attack more than just two plants in a row. I wonder about blackleg because i've seen reports of that already on another allotment forum, but nobody at all has mentioned blight.0

Blight can attack any number of plants, and I was just pointing out that it has already started as you didn't think it had. The timing would tie in.
Black leg is another possibility but op would have noticed rotted stems.
A photo would help OP0 -
Hi all, it has turned out to be black-leg. I have pulled up the plants and placed in the dustbin. Thankyou all so much for the advise, I wouldnt have known what it was otherwise."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0

Any idea why one of the plants in my bags is wilting? I've got two bags with a total of five plants in; only one seems to be affected:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

I have bags like that and it said only put 3 potatoes in all 3 are different varieties0

*cough* "two bags with a total of five plants in"
Three in one, two in the other. This is the one with three in though.
Could it be overwatering? I heard on Gardener's Question Time that they need a lot of water, so that's exactly what they've got.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I water mine most days just a bit then a good water once a week. I do feed them though currently using tomato feed and just topped mine up with compost
My bags have holes in so any water that get over filled runs off. I got 3 bags with 3 plants and two other bags (compost bags that are 70 litre bags) using spares I got.
I aint a expert on potatoes mine arent in flower yet the plants just gone over the bag last week0
