    You dont have to go!

Having said that there are nearly always BOGOF vouchers available or use tesco deals. Usually a way round these charges

They've been doing this for a while, as this was the case when we visited Blackpool in May last year. There was no way we were paying £20 for 4 adults to just walk around the pleasure beach, on top of the pass for our child to go on the rides!

When they first started charging admission, you had to pay the full whack whether you went on the rides or not. (As you would at a theme park).

They will shoot themselves in the foot with this one.

It would be interesting to see the figures at the end of the season.

Another sign of the greed of society I'm afraid.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

The idea behind the charge is to stop the chavs from coming in and ruining everyone's experience.

I understand the charge, but when I visit there I do like to have a walk around. Next time I go there I'm only planning it as a theme park trip anyway so I wouldn't be too bothered.

    From BPB website FAQ

Q - What is a Pleasure Beach Pass?
    A
    - A Pleasure Beach Pass costs £5 per person and entitles you to enjoy the ambience of the park, ride on the Pleasure Beach Express, explore the Chinese Puzzle Maze, enjoy South Beach Show** and don't miss our new Spectacular Dancing Water Show.

So you do get a bit more for your £5 than just entry to the park.

I live in Blackpool and there was strong opposition to BPB introducing this charge but the family which owns the park went ahead with it anyhow :(

    'The ambience of the park'

    hahaha!

I'll have to go and get changed, I just wet myself.

The whole of Blackpool is the biggest sh!thole on the planet!

(only suitable for keeping a lot of chavs occupied and away from more normal members of the public).

Of course I have to go you moron.

You don't HAVE to if that's your opinion of Blackpool

    Oh I'm going all right.

It's an education to see how the lower classes get their enjoyment.

It's akin to when they used to charge a penny to go around Bedlam.

It's also nice to see how all my taxes are being spent looking after the scroungers.
