Just think the £5 keeps bored chavs out... so it's a nicer experience.0

Maybe that's why they did it, to try to improve the quality of the people in the park.
I realise there are exceptions to this of course, those who cannot afford it and genuinely did just want to have a stroll round.Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0 -
We ended up going to Blackpool at Easter as my son was in a chess competition. I was sceptical, but actually was very impressed, both with the beach and the pleasure beach. It had a lovely family feel - try comparing it to Thorpe park - which is full of teenagers ( some rougher than others)
At Thorpe Park, Alton Towers and Chessington everyone has to buy a full price ticket regardless of how many rides you want to go on.
I think £5 is not much to charge and will help to keep the pleasure beach financially viable. Blackpool needs the pleasure beach to bring trade into the area.0 -
