What a rude person you are. Your spelling and allusion to profanity lets you down somewhat and denegrates your argument.

    Such a pity.

I disagree with paying to go into BPB too, In fact not been since they introduced the fee, and we were regulars
    also
Anyone been to southport pleasure beach in the past few years,

they started to charge an entrance fee and look what happened there,
there best ride was moved, and became Blackpools new ride and southport looks rough as hell.

it is a shame, and in a way I understand why they've done it, don't agree with it at all though.
My 4 year old just liked to walk round and look at all the big rides going round, shame he can't do it now, I'd rather take him on the piers where it's free to walk round

Pleasure Beach do charge £5 to get in if your not riding but this price does include a ride on the Pleasure Beach Express and the maze. You can also relax around the new dancing water fountains which are brilliant.

Throughout the month of June Pleasure Beach have an offer of £66 for a family ticket on. This includes different types such as 3 adults 1 child, 2 adults 2 childs, 1 adult 3 kids etc. These tickets can be bought on their website https://www.blackpoolpleasurebeach.com

Also, about Southport Pleasureland, the owners of the park have a lease which the council are renewing every year due to the company who was selected to transform the site being unable to develop due to financial reasons. This is the reason the park may appear tacky, because the owner is unwilling to invest millions into the park due to the uncertain future.

But, I can assure you that the park does have a brilliant selection of both travelling rides and permanent such as the old Wild Cat and many other great rides. Also if you check the papers now and again (such as the daily Mirror) vouchers are printed for free rides (1 free rider with every paying one). There is also no entrance fee to the park

I am in no way connected to either park but am a big fan of Theme Parks and fun fairs and just wanted to clear up the reasons behind it looking 'tacky'.

Really? Doesn't the North Pier charge you a pound or two to walk on it? It did the last time I was there.

I think the £5 charge is reasonable considering you get a ride on the train - that anyone, disabled or not, can enjoy, and also the maze. Also if you have kids that want to go on the rides, then pay the £5 you'd pay a lot more at other theme parks like Alton Towers/Thorpe Park and Blackpool has just as many rides, if not more than them.

The £5 charge can be annoying if you just want to have a look at the rollercoasters, but you can see the Big One from the promenade, and there's plenty more to do in Blackpool - go on the South Pier, look at the rides there!

I took my two kids (teenagers) and neice last year, got 3-4-2 on the wristbands. And I paid a £5 to walk around.

If I take them to Alton Towers though I have to pay full price for me and I won't ride on most stuff. Yes Blackpool attracts a fair few lowlifes. It also attracts decent people looking for a day out. But, as was posted on this site on a a thread last year the £5 charge keeps people OUT of the Pleasure Beach...

and even if I don't ride I will still use some facilities, like the toilets.

The North Pier charges for maintenance or something, but you get it off if you buy something on the pier. That's how it was when I was there. It's cause there's not many things on the North Pier to charge for, therefore it needs money to maintain it.

    You dont have to go!
and I am not going to.
They can shove their £5 up their a*se. I was going to write that this was going to be the thin end of the wedge with the charge going up every year but I predict that like that newspaper which introduced a fee to read them online, they will be forced to backtrack within 12 months as the customers flock elsewhere.
  • why is everybody surprised by this, they have to make money or there wont be a blackpool pleasure beach anymore, why do people want everything for nothing, if you want to walk around enjoying the ambience for nothing walk up and down the front
