You can only get upgrade from S4S and I'm sure when I was searching in the last few days they were the cheapest. If looking for full version, not an OEM, Tesco Direct were the cheapest at that time. I just purchased full version from PC World at £109 or about that, saved all the hassle of having Tesco Direct deliver.0

If you want to be 100% legit, you can buy an OEM copy along with a piece of hardware.
Note that the only difference between OEM & full retail (other than retail being almost twice the price) is that with the full retail version you will get a nice box and 3 months of tech support from MS should you need it (although the support isn't worth diddly squat).Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -
Then you don't qualify for the student discount.
At Software4Students you do.0 -

I phoned Microsoft to ask about the rules and regs regarding student software as I wanted to be 100% sure what I was doing was legit. I have my nephew staying with me part of the week due his parents work commitments and they have him rest of week. Microsoft employee told me as his Aunt and the fact he was at my house I could purchase the software to be used ONLY in my home for my nephew's use. If wanted a copy for his parents home then a separate copy of software would require to be purchased even although it is for use with 2/3 pcs. Obviously I require to give his name and the school he attends to purchase the software.
I THINK there are two types of discounts for students, one where you require an educational email address which I think entitles a larger discount, the other although you have to give details doesn't get such a large discount.0
