Gee - thanks for that.
You set yourself up for a (massive) fall when you first posted this thread. If you'd noticed after 3 or 4 payments, then fair enough, but to wait for 96 payments then kick off? I'm sorry, but no sympathy here (or from anyone else here I'd imagine). Ignorance isn't an excuse.
Now, put your toys back in your pram, cancel the DD, and move on.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -

Of course it is, and the sentence which proceeds this explains my reasoning.jambosans wrote:I say this with a degree of confidence because no one pays something for 8 years with no idea what it is for, without querying it before hand.
I was specifically implying that the OP at one point knew exactly what the payment was for and had simply forgotten.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0 -

Looking at the facts (the initial post), OP has a fair idea (based on dejà vu?), what kind of an insurance that is likely to be.VincentVega wrote: »I have no idea what this is - some sort of insurance for if I'm unable to work, perhaps?0 -
You need to cancel it with Pinnacle
If you just cancel it with Lloyds Pinnacle are entitled to reinstate it - they may not, but many companies do. You have a contract with Pinnacle, and need to cancel that contract with them.
As to getting it back - pass. I somehow doubt it. It doesn't sound like PPI - that would be a variable amount. Card insurance maybe?0 -

Do you suffer from dyslexia?
The facts are that the OP stated that ''I have no idea what this is'.
Having 'no idea' and going on to suggest that it may be some kind of insurance is not having a ''fair idea of what kind of an insurance that is likely to be.''
Now, this is a real stab in the dark but it could possibly be that If he had a fair idea of what it was he wouldn't have started a thread with the purpose of eliciting suggestions of what it was. but it's just a guess mind.0 -

I know, without the OP specifically stating it, I can only make assumptions based on subjective reasoning. Anything else you would like to take issue with?Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I have an income protection policy with Pinnacle. A few years ago they took over a lot of income protection policies from other companies. So the original policy may have been taken out under another name and it is now showing as Pinnacle on the bank statement.Freebies Received: Supersavvyme bag, Olay moisturiser, Barbara Daly/Tesco Mascara, Seeds of Change Choccie, Yorkshire Tea Kenyan teabags, Tesco mobile sim cards x 2.

OP has "no idea" in the first part - but has the right idea in the second part of that very same sentence (he could have guessed it was an 'adult channel' subscription, that would have been wrong).

I have a direct debit with Pinnacle for insurance to cover my mortgage in the event of redundancy. If it's any help, the policy was originally with Zurich Insurance and was then sold on.From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0
