Miele Washing Machine Problem!

if the problem is with draining then i would ask why the drain pump has not been replaced, the list of replaced parts you have supplied tells me the engineer has no idea what he is doing. I would ask for a different engineer to visit, the sealing ring, motor brushes and heater element are not connected with your fault in any way, it will either be the module(controller/timer etc.) or the drain pump and associated pipework, or a loose connection, is it a meile company employed engineer(if so i would call his office and demand a fresh set of eyes view your machine), or a subcontracted firm(who are milking the job for all its worth), more than likely its a pants engineer you have been lumbered with, one good point is that when they do eventually fix the fault your machine will have had so many new parts fitted to it that it will be almost new inside!0

Thanks Kaya
I have had 3 different Miele engineers out would you believe!
Once the machine stops and the 3 red lights come on I end the programme and then set to the rinse and drain cycle which then works perfectly. So don't think it's a drainage issue.0 -

Any fault can stop the machine draining.
All it has to do is stop the machine, and most of those parts will if they fail, leaving the machine full of water. Manually selecting the rinse and drain will then empty it, as posted.0 -
I'd say Miele have been pretty good so far with their call outs, so keep phoning them. As it's 6 years into the 10 year guarantee, I'm thinking they might offer you a refund of 40% rather than to continue trying to fix it. Would you be happy with this? You could always write to them, point out how many times it's been repaired, and suggest a 40% refund (so £320). I think my parent's Miele is over 12 years old and still going strong!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I certainly haven't got a problem with their service. Staff are friendly and helpful. I just want to know how far to go with this! I have just seen in the paper a sale in curry's and a hot point for £219. Even if this lasts 2 years it's got to be better value for money than my machine.0

My MIL's Hotpoint is over 12 years old, I've replaced one set of bushes, and the doorcatch in that time.0 -
Hotpoint used to be on Watchdog all the time and its been burnt into my brain to avoid that brand.
Miele is a good brand. We've got a very old one in our kitchen and it's still working fine. I don't know how old it is, but we moved into this house 12 years ago and it was there then. It has never needed a repair whatsoever. When Miele finally get to the bottom of it I'm sure it will be a reliable machine again. Just keep calling them out.0 -
I have the same problem with my Miele washing machine. The check drain light comes on and the washing machine comes to a stand still. It is completely random when it happens. Yesterday I put a wash in at midday and didn’t manage to get it out until Midnight! I lost count how many times I reset the programme to try and get it to finish. The washing machine is 5 years old now but have had the problem since new.0
