I have an analogue tv as we are going digital next year.
The cheapo dvd player has just died. So,what to do now?.
I still want to play dvd's so do i buy a new basic dvd player then next year buy a set top box and or pvr(or idtv) or do i just buy a dvd recorder.
I am assuming that the choice is dvd player + pvr or just a dvd recorder.
What is your experience? And why buy 2 items when i can just buy one?:wall:
Thank you

depends on your budget.
You can get a dvd recorder with Freeview and a pvr HDD built in.
I have a seperate Analogue dvd recorder and Freeview Recorder (PVR) on one set, a dvd player and Freeview box on another tv.
Depends when you have Analogue switch over to Digital because an Analogue DVD recorder wouldn't be much use as a Digital one would be0 -
A DVD recorder is really only useful for archiving programmes. A PVR is for record/playback/pause play and is much more user friendly.
Get a replacement DVD playter (cheapo or whatever you prefer) and then a PVR when digital transmissions are available. I recommend the Humax PVR 9300T.No free lunch, and no free laptop
