zip support is built in to anything XP onwards, if you've installed winzip/winrar, you've probably overwritten the default file associations!!

Thanks peeps.
This is for the netbook which only has Windows 7 Starter so I thought it might not have had WinZip included with being a cut down version. However I've just checked the desktop which has Vista Home Premium and that doesn't have it either.
Will have a look at those, but J-Zip looks interesting.0 -
7 - zip and win rar is good to use.0

J-Zip. Based on 7-Zip but with a Winzip type interface.
I hate to dig up a mildly old threat but after trying this out I had to reply.
Winzip - Bloated overpriced rubbish
Winrar - Good software but still not free and not the main file format (rar by default instead of zip)
7zip - OK software but default file format is .7z which I dislike.
jzip - The interface of winzip with the body of 7zip - Looks great and free.
Nice find there.0 -
Also tries to change the homepage and puts a link to malware on the desktop
'Fraid I have to agree with 'Rik (dammit), I also used to prefer jzip, but a few months back I rebuilt a laptop for someone.
jzip was always on my list of software to install, but found exactly as 'Rik reports, although I can't comment on the malware.
So now reverted to 7-zip.
There is a growing trend for software that tries to bundle in toolbars etc, whether by underhand means or deliberately misleading instructions.
How about a list?
CCleaner is at least transparent, or use the lite version.
