Fuming with Valued Opinions - has this happened to anyone else?

Hi everyone.

I have been a member of Valued Opinions for well over a year and usually get enough surveys to get one voucher every couple of months or so. However I replaced my laptop recently and so had to manually type in my log in details to check my balance as the password isn't yet saved on here.

I have the log in details written down so there is no way I am getting them wrong, but it just says 'incorrect username/password'. So I emailed valued opinions and they just say 'that email address is not registered'. It ruddy well is!! Just sent them a very snotty email as I am really wound up about this. I also added on the end of it, if my email address is not registered then how on earth am I still having surveys sent to it???

Has anyone else had this happen? Feel done to be honest.

So by pure coincidence at the exact same time you changed your laptop, they decided to change your account details without telling you??

No, just saying there is some problem with logging in and they have used the opportunity to make out I'm not registered with them - one less person to pay.

Never had that problem, and did have to switch computer recently as the old one died. Have had a decent amount of vouchers out of VA, and am continuing to do so.
If you're getting surveys sent out then I assume you are able to complete them because you don't usually have to log in beforehand, I'd send a non-snotty email requesting assistance and you may find them more receptive.

Afraid I just don't buy it.

The only thing which has changed is your own laptop.
Everything worked fine with the old laptop.

Did you have any apps on the old laptop which allowed you to log in automatically (magic wand for Opera, Secure Login for Firefox etc)?

Everything you have said points to a problem at your end.

I think you are being paranoid that this big company are out to get you! writing a snotty email to them is hardly the way to handle this.

Nope no apps on the old laptop, however I used firefox on the old one and now using internet explorer on this one - will try to log in with firefox now.

Tried the 'forgot your password?' thing again just to be 100% sure I have the right password and it just says 'sorry that email address is not registered'.

Just tried firefox and the same thing is happening. I have three invites to surveys in my inbox but not sure whether to do them or not.

Ok oddly enough I have now managed to log in but doesn't explain why they think my email address is not registered lol.

A couple of thoughts, are you using the correct e-mail address---I know you are getting them but if for example you registered with a googlemail address and now use gmail you will still be getting the e-mails sent to googlemail but gmail will not be recognised as your registered e-mail address.
Also make sure you are accepting cookies when you try to log in otherwise you will just go round in circles even if the e-mail and password are correct.

Checked both of those - correct email address and accepting cookies. It's a weird one.

I've always had problems logging on to Valued Opinions. Glad you got it sorted out now, so this is just for info for anyone else.

After completing a survey it gives you the opportunity to log in to check your account etc. It never ever recognises my email and password whether prefilled or entered manually. If I then type the VO address into the address bar (as it isn't the VO address in the bar, it's a longer one), click on member's page and log in it's fine. I really don't know why they have this problem with it, but that's the way I get round it.
