Cars with cheap tax and insurance
Options
:hello: Hi all,
I've just graduated from university and about to start a teaching course in September.
So I'm looking to buy myself a car at the moment.
I just wondered if anyone knows what cars have both cheap tax and insurance, and are also quite cheap to run and maintain.
I know that's a fair bit to ask for, but I want as few large expenses as is possible once I purchase one!
Thank you!!

Try What Car for an indication of running costs (just use it as a guide and not gospel, useful for weighing up two cars against each other)0 -

Something like a peugeot 106 1.5 diesel, cheap on all counts, and run forever.0 -
Fiat Panda 1.1 Eco Acrive, group 1 insurance, £30 a year tax. Probably out of your price range though.0

Citroen is popuplar with young drivers because they frequently do FREE 1st year's insurance if you buy a brand new car, typically a C1.
That insurance could be worth thousands.
So if a C1 is £7,000, you could look at it like the car is £5,000, and insurance is £2,000.
Get an electrically assisted pedal cycle until you get older.
Better yet, get an older boy friend with a car.0 -

Yea I don't think I'm going to be able to afford to buy a brand new car, despite all the pros that come with them.
I only want to spend about £1000 max on a car and as little as possible on the insurance but as I'm 21 that's likely to not be that cheap!0 -
You want Red Victor
It's the fastest street legal car in the world, and does 2 gallons to the mile when you open the tapsRemember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0
