Missing post - is this suspicious?

Just a quick question for you knowledgeable folks if you've got a couple of minutes to reply I'd appreciate it.

Our postal service has been OK for a long while.

Then suddenly within the last fortnight I've had a CD from Amazon not delivered and a Tesco DVD rental DVD go missing. Now both items are recognisable as to content without actually opening the package.

So is that suspicious? Both entertainment items. Both not delivered. Postal service suddenly unreliable.

Just a coincidence or dodgy temporary staff?

I've had a similar problem. I subscribe to two different magazines from the States that come monthly. Each comes in a clear polythene bag.

Magazine 1 arrives promtly every month. Never had problems.

Magazine 2 used to arrive on time until February. I never received Februarys issue so was given a credit by the publishers. March and April never arrived and I was sent replacement copies in plain paper envelopes - which I did get. Mays edition never arrived and I've been given a replacement which should be due any day. June's edition should have arrived and it hasn't.

I also get Tesco rental DVDs and other magazines in clear bags all of which I get with no problems. I wonder has a postie taken a liking to Magazine 2? I could understand maybe one or two issues going astray, but 5?!!

I'm going to change the address so that it comes to me at work. If I do get them at work then I know who is it fault.

I did try to ring Royal Mail about it an hour ago but after 6 menus STILL didn't give me the option to speak to a human being I gave up.

I have emailed their customer services but last time I contacted them with a simple enquiry they didn't bother to reply so I'm just waiting to see what happens now.

I suppose what's at the back of my mind here is that if it happens too many times then the likes of Amazon and Tesco might stop sending me things. Amazon were great about the CD and I got a refund and Tesco have sent another DVD but I think they'll see things differently if it happens again.

The work address idea is great. I teach though so I wouldn't want to do that as I'd not be able to order stuff in the holidays - well I could order it but I wouldn't get it til we went back to school which is not ideal.

I get all my stuff sent to my work address as we know the postie quite well and he knows I am always having ebaypackages arriving, he is trustworthy.

Defo report what is going on though.

This keeps happening with us also we have several magazines and concert tickets go missing we now have a trace on us of our mags

if you google royal mail then the area of the delivery office you can normally get a direct number which you can then talk to the delivery office manager,
this works most of the time. they dont like you calling the office but you get a better response

I have had orders from amazon and both tesco entertainment go missing....i have had tesco replace the dvd twice only for me to ring up on wednesday wanting a refund. amazon have dispatched another dvd....wonder if that will turn up. I have phoned the royal mail customer help line and have reported it but not sure what happens now
