Anyone knopw of a good place reasonably priced to stay in Aberdeen from a Monday - Thursday? Hoping to go over soon but wont have car so need somewhere to stay close to City centre. I dont know why but Monday -Thursday are way more expensive than weekend - possibly something to do with "Oil" people there during week.
There will be 2 adults and I dont fancy staying in sons Student accomodation as I have seen what its like!!!

Thanks Arkonite I never thought of that!0 -
If you want to stay central there is a travelodge right in the city centre.
Or plenty of B&bs down crown street area still quite central.
HTH
Ok cancel that travelodge I just looked at the prices
ETA There is also a premier inn and a holiday inn
Not sure of prices tho
Will keep thinkingEveryone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -
Haha.
ABZ is VERY expensive for hotel accommodation because of the offshore workers' demand for accommodation.
Have you tried looking at laterooms.com? If you do a search for Aberdeen city centre there might be some offers on for rooms, although to be honest it is pricey wherever you stay. The taxis are a rip- off too!
Good luck in your search! :A:mad: Hindsight is a wonderful thing...
:j One of Mike's Mob! yea!!!
Finally settled full balance of RBS personal loan ahead of schedule on 10th August 2010 :money:
DEBT FREE AT LAST... BUT FOR HOW LONG?! :eek:0 -
Hi There
Alright - don't laugh when I suggest the youth hostel here!
It's just beside Queens Cross - the West End of Aberdeen, so needless to say, it's the nice part of town. It is across from a couple of nice bars and not too far out of town.
I agree with the other post - taxi's are ridiculous for pricing, if you let me know where you end up then I can help you with bus numbers etc.
Where about is your son's accomodation?

Thanks for all your help. Have got sorted with Royal Hotel @ £180.00 /3 nights B& B which for Aberdeen isn't bad. I stayed in Travellodge once but this time they were more expensive wthan Royal which is just across street.0 -
Sorry you had to pay so much. Recently I put my Ma up in the Arkaig Guest House in Powis Terrace....quite reasonable and close to uni and centre of town....they have a website etc. and really nice landlords...
It was what we could afford and cheap but Ma really liked it
Maybe worth knowing for next time?

Where are you eating?
I only ask because,
You can buy the local spree book for £10
which will then give you a variety of city centre restaurants, take away and coffee shops with buy one get one free deals.
I recently bought the glasgow one because there is a few of us going to glasgow for a few days in the summer.0 -
If you want some more info on places in Aberdeen. Telly Savalas (TVs Kojak) did the wonderful guide.

Where can I get this book? We are flying in to Prestwick and then have to get train up. However on way home we are flying direct Aberdeen to Dublin0
