I have downloaded it, got the toolbar to prove it but when I hit the red icon in the bottom corner to activate it all I get is a "connecting.........." message on a new web-page and a blank screen. Anyone know why this might be?

Never used it, I use an open VPN
But is it possible its that youve changed your DNS settings? (OPEN DNS for example probably wouldnt work):idea:0 -
The DNS numbers are open in the connection settings.....I thought it was just a case of switching it on and away to go.
Do you mind if I ask which VPN you find most suitable?0 -

Without looking into it, ive no clue how yours works. But surely you could just send them an email for a basic setup list?
Mines not free
I use trilightzone ~

Just to add my bit, toolbars are generally BAD to install. Was it actually required for the vpn to work?
Id recommend removing it if possible and scan with malwarebytes
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds:idea:0 -
I agree with aliEnRIK - toolbars are not usually a good idea. I use openVPN myself - its freeChris Elvin0

I uninstalled this prog and it came up with a window asking why I was deleting it.....so I put in my findings.
Just tried to download it now and the damned hotel server prevents me from downloading anything
These personal VPNs you guys talk about, it seems a bit more than just simply downloading something to tunnel your way through dubious hotel and providers......it seems to me like you need a microsoft degree to set it up......you fellas will tell me now there's nothing to it, I'm sure :rotfl:0 -

Ive tried i-predator, which wasnt the easiest to setup due to having to configure my router, ipblocker and firewall to let it through
My open vpn was pretty easy. Install the small program they send. Unzip the contents to a specific folder. Open it and log into it and away you go:idea:0 -
please excuse the obvious questions but i opened the openVPN download site and it offers many different types (redhat, cenTOS, ubuntu etc.) which one should I select
thanks for your patience :beer:0
