How do i cancel Virgin tv package.

Hello to all, i have a new tv that has freeview and freesat and as i only have the basic tv package from Virgin i don't see the point in keeping theirs, i have subscribed for over 3 years so i don't think i'm on any long contract, could i phone them and cancel with imidiate effect or do i have to give 1 month notice? or do i have to write a letter.
