Off the top of my head, you just pour about an inch of water in the slow cooker and stand the pudding basin on a biscuit cooker(or similar) to raise it off the bottom of the pot.Put it on low for about 8 hours.
You don't need to be in the house when it's cooking and the house doesn't get all steamed up.0 -

I don't like the 'modern' pudding recipes, their too light.
