Posting links or images in messages

I tried to post a link in a message but an error came up saying that I couldn't do that as I was a new member - joined a few days ago and have about half a dozen posts to my name.

I can't see anywhere how long you have to be a member or how many posts you have to have before the restriction is lifted....... anybody know??

Nope - Its a closely guarded secret, it seems to be a combination of length of time and number of posts. But they won't officially say as then the spammers would use it to their advantage.

I can understand the spammer problem but its a bit of a pain when posting as you have to try and post the link and see whether it works and if it doesn't then either change the post or delete it...

No.

Go to here: Edit Options

and make sure you have the "show avatars" option ticked.
