Vodafone Insurance - Driving me Crazy!!

Hi

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm 10 months into an 18month contract with Vodafone and have lost my phone. This is my second claim during this contract but I took out the insurance to make sure I was covered at all times. I'm on a £25 per month contract but with insurance etc regularly pay in excess of £40 per month.

I use my phone for everything, it literally is my life, and I used all features to the max! I also have a mental health illness so it may not seem much but without having that phone on my person I simply can't go out. Hence the reason I made sure I took out insurance.

I originally had a Nokia N86 which was accidently broke & they couldn't replace for the same model so I settled for a Nokia 5800.

Now the 5800 is discontinued and they will only offer my inferior phones as a replacement.

At first they offered a Nokia 5230 but as it doesn't support Wi-Fi and has an inferior camera I refused it.

I've been advised that the insurance is like for like, to which point I have told them that if this is the case then they surely must supply a replacement that at the very least meets the specifications of the 5800 or at least the specifications that I use. Howver every replacement that they offer me lacks in some part.

The only other touch screen phones that they claim they can offer are Samsung Genio Slide (but with it having no Satnav, camera flash or WiFi capabilites) and the Viewty Smile (no wifi, satnav or camera flash) both seem to be inferior to me. They claim that these phones are the highest specification that they can offer me and anything with a higher spec would be classed as an upgrade which they wouldn't be able to to, even though these phones don't have some of the specs that the 5800 had.

I've now been passed to customer relations who have said they belive they've offered the only phones that match the specification of the 5800 but they'll investigate to see if there is anything else they can offer. However they say the likelihood is that I'll be placed on a waiting list until something else becomes available that will meet the specfications and that it could take months!!!

I now don't know what to do. I can't go out without a phone but don't want to become a prisoner in my home and certainly dont want to accept an inferior phone.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
