    Is 0200 free from mobiles?
Numbers starting 020 are London numbers, and therefore they will be free to call using your bundled minutes. Unless your service provider has designated the particular number string as one being used for what is known as 'onward dialling'. They may then tariff the call differently form the normal 020 tariff.

I only have a mobile so ringing 0845 costs me an absolute fortune.I always check saynoto0870.com first and If I can't find a geographical number then I use the account I've set up on localphone.co.uk .I put £5 in and i tell them what number I wan't to ring (do it all online) and they give me a local georaphical number which costs next to nothing per min can't remember the exact cost per min.So it still costs me but not near as much as it would to call an 0845 number

Is this safe? Does the call get recorded when your paying for things by the phone etc?

There must be a catch, surely?
Why? The people passing on the call aren't being charged for receiving it, or for dialling an 0800 no.
I'm not sure how they make any profit, though.

Too add to the above: the "catch" is when the company you are calling finds out your not paying for your call and hangs up, sometimes demanding before hand *puts on angry voice* "where did you get this number?"
LG were one such company. (And my next phone will NOT be an LG model!)

I've never been able to work that one out, either. Anyone know?

That's only the case when you're using a number from sayno. If you're using the 0800 number via the 0200 number shown above, they won't be aware.

And as for annoying companies by using a sayno number - good! Tell them there's a simple answer, which is to use an 0800 number or at least a geographical number. If enough people do that, perhaps they'll get the message.

Slightly off-topic, but there's a firm of electrical retailers by the name of Bennetts with 14 branches in East Anglia, and they only use freefone numbers for customer contact, even to the stores. That's a good indication of a company with the right attitude to customer servicer, and it does actually follow through to the way staff treat customers.
