Change Bags

Hi

It has suddenly occured to me that I havent bought a change bag for nappies, wipes etc! As a first time mum is this something that I will really need? If so can anyone recommend one that isnt going to bankrupt me!!

Thanks :o

You might get away with a smallish backpack, if that's easier?

Not really, though they are handy with all the little compartments for nail clippers, bottles, dummies, creams and the other odds and ends and easy to lose bits.

Don't buy one though, join Boots Parenting Club, you must buy some
Pampers nappies and have an Advantage Card, and you'll get a free bag, then and there if you go into Boots. It's a lovely bag too, very functional with a changing mat in it's own little bag.

I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

I did join Boots Parenting Club some time ago but I have never received a welcome pack which would allow me to buy the nappies and claim the bag. I hear what you say though. I may ring them tomorrow and see if they have processed my details.

    Thanks

Check your Bounty book or Emma's Diary, you should have a pull out form in there to take in store.

I have just found the form from the Bounty Book. Not entirely sure from reading the form whether they will hand me the bag tomorrow if I buy the nappies or whether I have to send the form off and wait. Does anyone know?

You do have to wait for the coupon that comes in the post sadly. Give them a call and see whats happening with it. We're due to have our second baby soon and although we have got a changing bag with all the pockets etc a backpack would be just fine until you got your voucher through. I know plenty of people who prefer this anyway. You might just need to get a bottle holder thingy to keep them warm/cool if you choose to bottle feed.

PS being our second time around i've learnt just how many things you really don't need/use so don't worry too much just enjoy!x

I have a regular sized wash bag of the sort that people have to take on holiday.

    In it there are:

    three nappies
    one disposable changing mat
    one muslin
one mini tube of butt cream
    one bottle of hand sanitiser
one travel pack of baby wipes

It fits in my (admittedly rather large) handbag, and although it's a bit like a game of Tetris I can also squeeze a spare vest, a bib and a pacifier in there. A toy goes in my bag separately, and I can go out and about as normal with my gorgeous velvet shoulder bag and toting the baby too.

TK Maxx is great for really nice change bags at a good price.

Like SS I also have a small zip up wash bag that holds mini wipes, a couple of nappies and a disposable change mat and I just chuck that in my handbag along with a muslin if I don't want to carry a changing bag.

I have a JJ Cole Mode Tote changing bag. It holds just about everything including the kitchen sink, as the saying goes. :)

I only use it for lengthy trips though. For everyday use, I have the matching JJ Cole Diaper and Wipes Pod.

    http://jjcoleeurope.com/diapers-wipes-pod

It has room for 4 nappies, a packet of travel wipes and some nappy bags. (Plus the changing mat that comes with the Pod, of course.)
