Free logo wanted

Options
I need a logo for a small business. Sort of like a crescent moon with the tips coming back into the circle so the company name can start to be written within the crescent.

Any ideas for a website with free logos ?

there really aren;t many places that'll give you a logo for commercial purposes for free, most free ones are pretty basic anyway.... best bet would probably be to break out a copy of paint/gimp/photoshop and knock one up yourself.... or find a vaguely artistic/geeky student and get them to do one for you for beer money

No offence, but Paint, GiMP or Photoshop are not good tools to use for logo design, and this advice is an example of why it is a good idea to get someone (even if they are an impoverished student) who knows what they are talking about to do a basic design.

It doesn't have to be expensive to be a good logo, but a poorly-designed logo can be very expensive as the business progresses

I agree. Logos should be made using a vector graphics program. That way you can re-size them as needed. There's nothing worse than looking at an advert with a picture that's been resampled way too much.

Well actually there are probably some worst things. In the grand scheme of things, war, genocide, etc, a fuzzy graphic is quite tame.

Did you read the previous post about vector graphic programs? Just resize your example and see what happens...
