Before you go down this route, have an alternative in place so that when people request you send it to a different address, you can. Also, when people say that they never received your item (which they will) as Hotmail/AOL/yahoo has filtered it out or classed it as unsafe and therefore removed the attachment.
Don't rely on an autoresponder 100%.
You could just create your own using either outlook rules or similar.
outlook express does not work as an autoresponder. It only works if your compoter is turned on
