Don't fall into the idea that all newish high mileage cars have done only motorway miles, when I mentioned the mileage on the Skoda to my brother he said "that's about the same mileage as I do".
He is a taxi driver, his Skoda is bought outright, but some of the guys lease new Skoda's.
    ML.

Skoda (more so than most manufacturers) are very nervous about their cars being labelled taxi cars. They are part of the VAG group and rightly see the product as a premium (albeit value) brand.

Therefore the taxi discount offered to taxi purchasers (or lease companys ) is only on the entry level entry spec versions ie 1.9 tdci engine and classic spec on the Octavia or S on the Superb.

Therefore if your looking at a better spec or a 2 litre tdci engine the chances of it being an ex taxi are really remote. Always look in the back seats though. A lot of my old motorway milers could do 60k a year without ever havin a bottom come in contact with a back seat.

Taxis should stand out a mile - even at an auction with a car locked.

I was talking to a taxi driver here and he said with the VAG cars they aren't allowed the 2.0TDis as they have the DPF and with lots and lots of town driving it isnt clever. So all the VAG taxi's round here are 1.9's.

    Maintenance Record - 2 NON-FD STAMPS 61K 5/09

Last service was at 61k in 5/09. they are due every 12500 miles. And its now on 75, so it's due a service and its first MOT is due too.

Leaseplan will have leased it to someone for 3 years as a company car. Somethinbg like that will have been Network Rail probably.

So it was overdue for that previous service or the one before that then lol.

On high mileage like that it should've been serviced 6 times by 75k, not twice! Even if it's on 20k servicing (which it certainly shouldn't be) - it should've had 3 and be ready for it's 4th.

Company I work for are very strict about when their drivers return their cars for servicing - IIRC it's a disciplinary matter if you don't have a good excuse  - they're all leased through BT Fleet / Lloyds
