The place is really nice, but I'm a bit worried, because we were dealing with the assistant operations manager, and we went in and Moon said he'd pay the £300 now, and then we had lunch there which was really nice, and not very expensive either, and went back down to see AOM, and he said he'd spoken to his manager, and that the manager wanted to give us a call tonight, and for him to not take any money yet! Needless to say, the manager hasn't called, and I've just called there and he will call us tomorrow morning, but I'm a bit concerned that they are going to turn around now and say they can't do it or something! Very stressful, as I thought us going in today would seal the deal. :(
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Just spoke to the manager who was meant to call us (and never did - I just called him) and everything is ok for our afternoon tea reception, which is great - the only reason he wanted to call is because the guy we had been dealing with had only been working full time for a couple of weeks, and he wanted make sure that as the word "wedding" had been mentioned, that he had all of the facts straight. Assistant manager will call us later today or tomorrow. What a relief!!!86440045.PCDDqeEw.nailbiting.gif86440058.7L5LRh9N.phew.gif

Now I can get the invitations sorted out. :j

We are probably going to get a sparkling wine for toasting cookiemonster, but that is all (hadn't planned to have formal speeches or anything, but don't know if my family will have other thoughts on this - I certainly don't want to have to give a speech myself). Not sure how much it's going to cost - if we got it ourselves, we could probably get a good deal, but the venue don't seem too keen on use bringing our own wine obviously as they won't make as much money. We wanted something like Martini Asti - or M&S version is nice and a lot cheaper. M&S Lambrusco is only £2.99 a bottle if you like that sort of thing.

  • Thanks sexymouse had thought about having Martini Asti or something similar for the toasts and then maybe a bottle of red/white wine on each table, luckily our venue doesn't mind and we aren't getting charged any corkage fees by either the venue or the caterer.
