HD recording facilites

i have just purchased the hd tyrabyte box from sky and i was just wondering, if i put my old hd box in my sons room ( who has free to air sky ), would he be able to use the recording facilities on the box, or do you need to have a subscription

Sky will give you sweet FA unless you subscribe, in the case of keeping the recording facility you will have to stump up £10 per month.

You probably don't want to hear it, but you could have fitted a 1TB drive to your existing box for £62.

OH looked into fitting the 1tb drive , but the box has been playing up for a while now,so he decided to get the new box at £149, (and he did like the look of the new box)
