Number of feet from the camera?0

I have been trying to upload the photo from the speed camera to this thread. Struggling, don't know why they don't make it simpler? I put the photo onto photobucket.com but not sure how I upload it here?
When I tried I got a message saying - "Sorry as a new user you are not allowed to post with links. This is done to stop spammers clogging up the site. Please edit your message below to continue"
Am I doing something wrong??0 -
Ok, mystery solved. I drive that road every single day on my way to (and as part of) work and am familiar with every metre of it.
Briefly. Just read 'em again.
Roughly where does the 50 limit start? You say 6-7 miles, any chance you could find it?verybigchris wrote: »OK, I'm stumped - what does that 60 marking signify???
As previous posters have shown, there are plenty of 50 repeater signs along that route, the latest one is visible here just before the camera (visible in distance):
Sorry it wasn't the news you wanted to hear, but I'm afraid the speed limit is most definitely 50 for several miles eastwards of the M61 junction until the Pendleton roundabout underpass, after which it drops to 40 for a further two miles until you pass Salford uni, where it drops to 30 just before the junction with Adelphi St. At no point eastwards of the M61 does any 60 limit exist. The marking showing the small square looking "60" is of no defence and does not even resemble any official encircled speed limit markings, so unless you can hire celebrity lawyer "Mr Loophole" who can prove some other procedural impropriety, your goose is pretty much cooked.0 -
Thanks DaveF327...
If the signs where you left the m/way are the same as the 1st photo above then, barring an error in procedure or paperwork, it's not worth fighting.
As mentioned you may be offered a speed awareness course. If not it would be cheaper to pay & accept the points.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
Oh the shame... :rotfl:
Guess I'll be paying the fine but for all you competent drivers out there don't underestimate the folly of driving in a foreign country even if you share a land-locked border together. There are many subtle differences, cameras definitely easier to spot in Scotland!!!
Thanks for the advice anyhoo... :T Glad I didnt have to try upload a pic on here, or my computing know how would surely have been called into question also.

Sorry we couldn't be more positive Jimbo, but Brownie points for taking on the chinPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

The 60 is only a guidence marking for the GATSO image and is not under any TSRGD marking or TRO, thus not an actual sign, the actual 50 roundel (TSRGD 670) is the actual regulatory sign in accordance with the local TRO you have to obey, you exceeded the limit and got caught now pay up.Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful!
