Help - appealing speeding fine

Briefly. Just read 'em again.
Roughly where does the 50 limit start? You say 6-7 miles, any chance you could find it?
Does it really matter? If you look at the 100 yards before the speed camera, there's a big 50 sign with a speed camera sign, then a 50 repeater after that...Hard to miss, I'd have though, unfamiliar area or not.0 -

Yes, it might. A change of speed limit needs a sign on both sides of the carriageway... not just the nearside.
It's a longshot I know but I'm interested nowAlways try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
I've just looked back on Google maps between the Charles Street slip road and where Broad Street becomes East Lancs road - can only see two speed restriction signs, both singletons without a duplicate on the other side of the carriageway. There is also a speed activated flashing 'slow down' sign with 50.
If legally there has to be a pair of speed restriction signs, you may have a case OPPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -

Like I said it's a big longshot & depends on where the speed limit changes... if the whole of the east lancs is a 50 limit (with correct signage) then all that is needed on Broad st is a repeater as it's just a continuation of the east lancs from what I can see.
Also street view can be way out of date but it's a start.
Edit: The relevent legislation....(2)In accordance with the following provisions of this direction and the provisions of direction 9, appropriate signs to which this direction applies shall be placed to indicate the point at which a restriction, requirement, prohibition or speed limit applying to traffic on a road (in this direction and in direction 9 called the "relevant road") begins.
(3)Subject to paragraphs (4), (5) and (6) and to direction 9, a sign to which this direction applies shall be placed on the relevant road at or as near as practicable to the point referred to in paragraph (2) -
(a)where the relevant road has only one carriageway, on each side of that carriageway; or
(b)where the relevant road has more than one carriageway, on each side of each carriageway in relation to which the restriction, requirement, prohibition or speed limit begins.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -

You would have to look at the TRO for that, the route that the OP say's he took is correctly signed, he passed 5 static camera's and 5 known mobile site's before encountering this camera, supprised he got as far as he did,
As the OP seem's to have gone so not much point in offering any more comment.0 -

Agreed
I'm just waiting for the 1st coat of stain to dry on my decking & this caught my eye
To be honest, if I was the OP I'd just pay it but sometimes it's worth making the effort.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
Hopefully as it's first offence, OP could do a speed awareness course anyway?0

There's a chance but at 58 he may be outside the SAC limit? I dunno, depends on Salfords policy.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
My son lives in student accommodation just down there, and I find the most annoying thing is that 30 sign for the slip road. The number of people who see that and the camera, and then slam on their brakes is unbelievable.0

OK, I'm stumped - what does that 60 marking signify???0
