No heat coming through car heater?

Hi all, I have a Rover 420 which evenwhen the engine is running hot, the air blowers in the car run chilly at best. The fluid level in the radiator seems fine and coolant looks as expected. What is the most serious thing that this could be? Going to try and check for blockages and have a look at the heat control knob tonight as it stops about 1 cm from the end at both sides but can be turned the extra 1cm but it will pull back, maybe that has a problem with the connection. Any thoughts?

It is possible the fan/heater has failed.

sounds like the connection from the knob to the flap has failed.
this can be fiddly to repair but if you can trace where the cable goes to from the knob then you can usually manually move the heater flap.

As you can see it could be a few things!

Rheostat? Fan motor? Thermostat? Temp/fresh air flap? Wiring? Heater switches? Pollen filter (but very unlikely)?

Take it to a reputable garage, and let them get the diagnosis wrong

    Look who did it;).

I would have thought blocked heater matrix was a strong possibility and quite expensive to fix.

Do I detect a cry for attention, why would someone dig up a whole load of old threads apart from the above. Or merely as an outlet to spout yet more garbage???

    Bring on the button. button-1.jpg
