Great if you have kids in the back - none of those stupid stick on car shades that fall off and look ridiculous. No problem with seeeing out the back at night

If you have a black car aswell they look better than on lighter colour cars IMO (and no I'm not a 20 something pimply biy racer ;) )

I think they look funereal, especially on black MPV's. There's a sheltered housing block near us and whenever one of those hearse looking things turns up I wonder who's being brought out for the Chapel of Rest.

Evidently some cars come with them without the option of not having them. I wouldn't buy one of those cars. Pretentious nonsense.

Yes I probably wouldn't bother with an estate or MPV if it was black!

is there a chance a like-minded criminal type think "ooh what valuables are they trying to hide I might have a closer look"?

Well if you can see a black jacket through standard windows when you walk past then the thief will take a chance that there may be a wallet. With tinted windows a black jacket on a black seat will look far less obvious and the thief would need to peer into the glass on some tints. This will draw attention to themselves.

I have tints on 2 cars and privacy shades on Mrs V's Corsa. They hide the DVD players too. You have to remember that children are far more photosensitive than adults. And those who deride them? Who cares - my choice, stick it. :p:D

Got tints down to 20% on the back of my Zafira. Wife was sceptical at first, but now even she definitely sees the advantage. They look better than Whinnie the Pooh stick on blinds, they hide valuables, keep shopping and kids cooler and protect your privacy. When its hot, and your stuck in traffic, they really help keep the car cool, less work for the AC, so not as noisy. Before now, when stuck in long jams on the M-way and toddlers need a toilet stop, we can just stick them on potty in back, with no prying eyes. Probably stops more UV than standard, not sure quite how much UV standard does stop.

5% 'limo' style does look a bit drug-dealer. 20% is a good compromise, dark enough to block sight from the outside, unless sunlight is coming straight through. Yet 20% is still light enough for kids to enjoy the view and not cause trouble reversing in the dark.
