My car has them.....passengers love them in the sunshine as they don't get overheated but I hate them, makes night driving difficult. You can't see a thing when reversing at night.

I seem to recall quite a few PT Cruiser drivers being pulled for their tinted windows, despite them being done as standard it seemed that Chrysler were going a little too dark and breaking the law.

After being in car with tinted windscreen hot heavily down to 25 reduction, Then back to car without, defiantly prefer tinted. My dads just brought a new car with tinted windows and he loves it and so do the rest of the passengers.
I would get them tinted in black but now down to chavy levels tints and an even level all around it looks silly back windows black out and front normal.

IIRC most cars have the front windows (in front of the front door piller) already tinted near the maximum allowed by law in places, so it's either a case of having them look "silly" with just the ones behind the driver more heavily tinted, having light tints (the standard ones), or having illegal ones at the front and not being able to see properly (especially at night).

My Fiesta has tined windows at the back. tbh When I ordered it I wasn't sure about it at all, and asked if I could have a car without them.. but I couldn't.

Now I've got it I have to say I like it, because I often keep stuff on the back seats it's good that people can't easily see in. Not that there's anything valuable, I just don't want people seeing what a right mess it is! :D

If you tint the front windows down so that they transmit less than 79% of the ambient light, you will attract the attention of the police. They seem to be quite hot on this.

leave the window's standard a have a set of fitted blinds made for your car, window's can still be opened and the blinds can be removed in seconds if reqd. far more classey.

Makes personal belongings inside the car less visible, so the car is less likely to be broken into (I believe that this can in some cases lower insurance a little bit).

is there a chance a like-minded criminal type think "ooh what valuables are they trying to hide I might have a closer look"?
