I would try disabling the toolbars and see if that helps

I cant see anything wrong in the logs at all

So
Reset internet explorer

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Under Reset Internet Explorer Settings, click Reset.

Thanks everyone, that's it back to normal now. Resetting IE seems to have done the trick.
