What about phone line with VM???

I'm thinking about leaving VM and join sky (HD+ offer seems v good). I have a bundle of TV, broadband & phoneline from VM. I wanted to ask when & if I try to switch to Sky, what will they do about the phone line? Because VM phone line i cable based. I used to have a BT line in past before joining VM but it obviously went dead after VM connected. Would I need to activate that BT line in order to get the sky package? What would be the charges? Would taking sky line rental offer be cheaper or free in such case?
I think in doing this, I shall not be able to take up their online offers or use cashback sites eg, quidco or topcashback, isn't it? I believe you need to have a BT line alreday in place before you can go for these online offers to switch to sky
Any comments will be highly appreciated

Still one can't get sky package when continue with cable phone, isn't it? Sky package includes phone, TV & BB- cheaper if taken all together. Correct me if I'm wrong. Has someone changed from VM to sky before? What did they do with phone line....0

VM's phone is not connected to BT's infrastructure so yes,you will need to get the BT one re-activated.
Have you looked over at http://www.skyuser.co.uk

when i moved into my new flat sky put in a phone line for £39 and i was able to order this all through the internet and quidco. It will take a bit longer for everything to be set up but the process was all simple and sky engineers all arrived on time and spent no more than 20 mins in my flat. Come to think of it when they came to do the phone line they only came into the flat to check there was a dialing tone0
