I have applied for over 150 jobs since the end of january, and this is the first interview i have got.I would rather work at mcdonalds and earn minimum wage than jsa for god knows how long.. i have a family to think about..
    wish me luck!

With an attitude like that you deserve to succeed in your interview, I wish you all the luck in the world - please let us know how you get on.

Some years ago I interviewed for junior staff in a major bank and the youngsters that stood out the most (and who got the jobs) had worked in McD's. They all had good customer service, communication and team-working skills, plus the ability to work fast but accurately, which are probably the most important skills for many jobs. So if you do get the job make sure you take all training they offer you and make sure you keep your CV updated with all the skills and experience you build up, this will really help in any future job applications.

Whats difference between customer service assistant and crew member ?

    What an OJE ?

crew members are the people behind the tills etc. customer service is cleaning the resturant.

oje is a onthe job evaluation. on mine i was put on window 3 of the drive in and just had to pass people their drinks and food

Customer service is lobby. It's not just cleaning, you also talk with the customers, help if there are any issues (say a mum comes in with 3 kids, you see if they need any help - getting a table/food/highchairs) It's not all cleaning, it's about showing good customer relations.
    ** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **
    ** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
    **SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Dont forget McDonalds are probably the most progressive employers in the UK at the moment, despite everything they are still employing and whilst a lot of people moan about them they are appearently good to work for.

Personally I would prefer to work for them that be unemployed.

Good luck - and don't forget to read through a few lists of typical interview questions before you go - it definatly helps to have a few responses planned out before you get asked things (just don't act like you're reading out a list :) )

i used to work for them and i cant complain at all, they asked if i could do extra shifts and if i couldnt then they asked someone else. i worked at Trafford Centre one before they closed it down. The social aspect was brilliant and the money was good, they had quite good prospects if you wanted to get on and progress.

    good luck!
Been away but now i am back!
