i recently went for a interview there i got past the group stage but not the oje. at the group stage i smiled loads also, in our groups we had little tasks to do. for eg my group had to list all the things a crew member would do.

i was also told i had to work nights and there was no way of getting around this, and basically you have to work when they tell you to, which is why i didnt pass the oje stage. i was available 10am-8pm everyday and was told that that wasnt flexible enough (my o/h works nights and i have 2 children so i could not work nights)

just try to be positive, try not to be shy, give the interviewer lots of eye contact and SMILE!

while i agree its probably not the perfect job (especially if you have other commitments) a job is a job right now. a year ago i never thought id be applying there but theres not much else around right now.

When I did my interview (18 months ago) I first had a 'tour' of the restaurant from the manager. Then we sat down for the interview. She had a booklet that needed filling in with questions like "when have you worked in a team?", "when have you showed creativity?" etc. She didn't ask all of them, and each box, I think, then gets a red or green light. (That's what the sheet looked like).

Then I was asked what hours I would like to work. These were always kept to and I was able to ask for more. Sometimes they'd phone me up if they were short.

I was never asked to do an OJE. The manager said she disagreed with them and put people under pressure without knowing what to expect. There was no group interview either.

Customer service assistant is different to a crew member which is what I was. But the 3 people who did that job where I worked were aged mid-30s, 45 and 60. Everyone got along, both the 16 year olds (like me!) and the oldest people.

Well done you :) If only more people had this attitude things would be so different.

I for one wish you the very best of luck, smile and be confident I am sure you will sail through it :)
