So what mobiles can offer this :
3 meg camera with autofocus and led flash
Wi-fi
Basic browser
MP3 ability with 3.5mm jack
Decent battery consumption
But here's the catch. Must be below £200
Everything that satisfies all the above is only a few quid cheaper then the HTC Desire . I don't need a smartphone, but I'm damned if I'm going to pay out over £200 on the current offerings when the Desire can be had for not much more.
Is there a phone I'm missing ?

Try the phone finder on gsm arena. I put in your specs and got back this
The 5800 Xpress is a good phone and I think you would be able to pick it up for much less than 200. Probably around the 150 mark on PAYG.
I've shortlisted the 5800 but trying to get a sim free PAYG on the highstreet for under £200 is hard going.0 -

I dont need a touchscreen, but the W995 is wayyyyyyy too overpriced and it eats batterys.
They're around £270 ( only £15 cheaper then a Desire on the 02 deal )0 -
Samsung S5560 has those features I do believe.Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug).

Actually around £180 but there you go...
Sony Ericsson Elm / Nokia 6303 / Nokia 6303i
Saying that 6303 has no wifi and the 6303i has no autofocus - go figure.
Edit - scratch the 6303 and 6303i from list, both do not have wifi.
I have used the 6303 - can say it is a very good phone for what it does.
The Sony Ericsson Elm has everything I think except the screen looks a tad small.
The Nokia e63 is ace for email using nokia messaging but alas does have 2mp camera only and poor on battery life (as most nokia seem to be).0 -

The monte is a nice modern phone with everything you want but flash, is it really that important as led flashes are next to useless anyways. my n97 with dual LED is just about bearable but its still not xenon and anything but a portrait distance and you get no extra light.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
W995 is £200 with phones4u I think it was.
I'd disagree on the battery, one of my friends I work with has it and I'm massively jealous of the battery life over my Desire!
Or Blackberries are very very good for battery life, but the one in your budget only has a 2mp camera - 8520.0 -
Elm has no 3.5 jack either

You could live with the supplied ear plugs which use the sony standard sockets ....
