My friend lives in american and hardly goes on the internet as much as I do and used to text him all the time in england but he lives there now. He has unlimted texts on AT&T and I have unlimited texts on Orange.
But it costs more to send as its going to a different country.

I was wondering weather theres anything that I can do to text to him at standard rate so I can use my unlimited texts to text him and he can text me?

There are things like Facebook texts where if he sends me a message via text via facebook, I will get it on my phone and I can reply and he will get it on his phone but it never sends the full message and tells me I have to go online to read the rest so that ones out the window.

Is there anything else I can do to text him and use my unlimited texts maybe I can text to a website which will then forward the text to his phone for free?

Thanks.

If his phone is unlocked, you could send him an Orange PAYG SIM card. You would then be texting a UK mobile number and the texts would come out of your inclusive allowance.

You would need to active the SIM in the UK before sending it to him and probably register it in your name as a UK user. You would also need to keep the SIM in credit.

Similarly, if A T & T offer a PAYG service, he would be texting a US number.

He doesn't want to change his sim as he has american friends and family also.

I mean is there anything you can text to online which will then get sent through my phone? Just like on Facebook and Bebo. But something that sends the full message, not just the first few lines?

Have a look at Truphone, might be an option for international sms...

dont suppose both your phones have email clients? ie as soon as you get an email, your phone notices and downloads it (mine is set to update ever minute) and you get a alert like texts. Its what i do when friends are abroad.
    Back by no demand whatsoever.
