New TV and problem with freeview

I got this new tv and it is great sometimes but most of the time, the signal is poor and I get the message of no signal and poor reception. I can also hear the clique from the tv. Is this normal? I had the problem when I had a freeview box but fought it will resolve when I have a tv with built in freeview. Will it be like that when we switch to digital, the weather is nice and I do not understand why it is playing up. Thanks

Are you using a proper external aerial? Most Freeview reception requires that, not a set-top or loft aerial.

No iit will probably solve itself once you switchover due to the increase in signal strength.
