I remember your posting about the partner who seems to have had the same attitude as your neathandral uncle. Oh dear, what a family you have.

Get the !!!!! spayed. Why on earth are you even considering breeding from her with all the problems you have/have had. Didnt you have a toddler and another baby on the way when the boyfriend was bullying you and refusing to neuter his male staffie because he wanted his head to grow as wide as possible!!

Im sorry, I did have great sympathy with you on your previous posting with the aggressive boyfriend, but it seems to me that you also need to change your attitude as you cant change your family.
  • Sounds like he has a plan to produce fighting dogs with your dog, whether you like it or not. Well meaning though you are regarding your own dog and puppies, if you don't get her spayed, I am willing to bet money that at the first sign of being in season, you will find his dog (which is probably at least part Pit Bull) tied with yours, as he is probably counting on your dog's Staffie features keeping the exemption of the Dangerous Dogs Act, with him sitting and laughing at how stupid you were to think he wouldn't do exactly as he pleases.

Just imagine how shocked he would be to find out that his money making dog fighting scheme has been scuppered by a mere female!

Don't tell anyone, just get her done.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

  • Please have a look here cocopopslover - this is just one pound of the many local authority pounds up and down the country, and these are the 'urgent' dogs - this means they need rescue places ASAP - otherwise, when the pound runs out of space, the only option will be to put them to sleep to free up kennel space - have a look, and see what links almost all of them... http://www.preciouspoundies.co.uk/index.php?id=12

Look at these lovely smiley staffies, due to be put to sleep this week: http://www.rochdale-dog-rescue.com/urgentdogs.html

I have an uncle who has a Staff/Rottweiler cross.

Im sure some of you might recall a post of me feeling very unhappy about a partner of mine's attitude towards 2 dogs.

Well anyway my mum took the dogs and I moved out and my mum has come to an agreement with me to have the dogs whenever I want. During that time I have helped my mum train the dogs to not jump all over the house or go into other peoples gardens, listen to instructions etc.

Now my mum and my uncle have been talking and he has this dog that I do not like, I feel very unsafe around him, hes unruly, thinks hes the boss and he might listen to instructions and do a few tricks but not for long. Now my uncle has this habit of popping up to peoples houses and he has this 'my dog is better than your dog' attitude and insults me about the fact my dogs cannot do tricks and that his dog can kill my male dog etc etc

He even tells me that his dog will breed with my female dog and I have told him she will not be bred with his dog, and I am scared that when I am not around, he might try to breed her.

She has not been neutred because once I get a place that allows dogs, she will be bred with dog trainers dog and we agreed in about a years time we wanted to breed our dogs to expand our families, not to sell and give to careless owners like my uncle.

I have explained to my mum about my concerns but she thinks I am being dramatic and I dont know what to do now :(

    Any advice?

I feel like i am wasting my time and I think everyone else is. Your uncle is obviously a fruitcake and if he wants his dog to breed with yours then he will. Therefore you need to get her netured a.s.a.p. You don't need to bred dogs and if you want to "expand your family" there are loads of dogs in rescues and I have a feeling your uncle will always have pups that is looking to give away. I really do hope you listen to other people on the board as you really are setting yourself up for major problems and a lot of puppies to be put down if you don't get the dog netured. Dogs aren't people. They will be just as happy with another dog they get on with than their own puppy.

Get your Dog Spayed and I would seriously consider in the future if having more than one dog in your household is advisable

I keep getting this awful feeling of deja vu with these circumstances and headline making cases.

Gotta agree with everyone else. Get the dog spayed ASAP and tell your uncle to grow the hell up. Avoid the idiot at all costs.

" I would have this girl speyed ASAP, otherwise your mum could well and up finding herself trying to deal with seperating two dogs who are trying to mate... "

And with two young kiddies in the room at the time ........................

Coco, you seem to have more sense than the other members of your family. For goodness sake do what you know is the wise and safest thing.

. The fact that he's boasting about how his dog could KILL your dog is, .

When your girtl comes into heat this may actually happen.

If said uncle brings his entire dog over when the !!!!! is in heat then there WILL be trouble with your entire dog .

Even if he doesnt bring the dog over , how on hell are you going to stop both your dogs mating. Its bad enough keeping a !!!!! in, when she is ready to mate and boy dogs, just go crazy and escape at any chance.

Keeping them locked in seperate rooms is probably just going to end up with frustrated and potentially dangerous dogs( only recently this happened and a baby was killed or seriously injured). Add to that huge holes in doors etc with them trying to get to each other.

You'll also need to take into account the fact that the mother may reject the littler, are you fully prepared and able to bottle feed 10+ pups if this does happen?

I know it may seem like we're all having a go, but we're not, we're trying to bring to light the facts about breeding, it's all well and nice to have a family of dogs but are you prepared for every single eventuality? If not then spaying really is best.
