Hi
My daughter (16) has a contract with 3 mobile. She bought a phone about 6 months ago and last week it went faulty...she could send text but not receive them. We went back down the shop and they sent it away for repair. She had a letter yesterday to say that they cannot repair it as there is evidence of liquid contamination...either by dropping it in a sink or phoning while it was raining.
My daughter is so honest that she would tell me if she had ...and she said that this was nonesense...and that is good enough for me.
They say that as she is on a contract they may be able to upgrade on a new contract...oh and it will cost her 20 quid admin fee for sending it to the workshops.
Now this must be the easiest thing in the world to do if they don't want to admit liability...how can anyone prove otherwise?

The phone has stickers buried inside it which change colour when they react with moisture, this invalidates the warranty.
To be honest though it sounds like a network/sim problem, not hardware related.0 -
There was a wide spread text problem last Friday evening but the problem was you couldn't send text but would still receive them from other networks. If you had got the problem the wrong way round and it was last Friday evening it was definitely a 3 network issue and not a phone issue.0

The more people that get in contact with Ofcom and watchdog@bbc.co.uk the more it will be known to the public.
