its great fun! for adults as well as kids!
Oh yes yes! I havnet played for ages and I am hopeless at tennis but because the ball is on a string even I could hit it, can be played alone or against someone.Go for it if you can.Norn Iron Club member 4730 -

Yes I have swingball and its great fun. The ball is a soft foam ball though as my daughter is only 5; I imagine a real tennis ball slamming into her would hurt! Totally recommend it (the swingball that is, not slamming a tennis ball into my daughter, LOL!).0 -
We used to have one it was fab for children and adults. I prefer the ones with a spike that goes into the ground though rather than the ones with a plastic bottom that you need to weigh down as these still seem to move.:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0

We have one with a real tennis ball & a spike. I returned the one with a base after 2 days. It was rubbish, & kept falling over (no matter if filled with water or sand)0

That's very true. Me and my younger brother had one with the tennis ball when we were kids. He couldn't hit the ball for toffee, and when he missed it the ball used to swing round and whack him on the head. *ouch*
I didn't laugh honest......
(well not much, ok I'll admit it - I wet myself laughing - but my excuse is that I was 10 at the time :rotfl:)BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

Wow! Swingball! That's a blast from the past lol. I didn't realise you could still get them! I'm nearly 40 and we had swingball when I was a kid, but with a real tennis ball. I can't believe they've pansified it by putting a softball on haha! But yes, adults love it (and usually lose against kids!) and yes being hit by the tennis ball blinking hurts! But it wouldn't be the same without the tennis ball imo!0

I agree with Sooz, go for the spiked one. We have had years of fun out of ours - and much easier to take away with you than the one with a base, too. I think it can wind the neighbours up a bit though, after a couple of hours of continuous thwacking:mad:. Then the best thing to do is invite them round for a best of three!:D0
