Hi everyone,
Im about to leave my tenancy next month, and am i right in saying because i paid my month in advance next month i won't need to pay rent. My LL says it's not right but i don't know if she is just saying this to get her mortgage paid for an extra month.

i think we need a little more information than next month to fully understand.....but let me tell you where i am
my tennancy ends on the 19th June. Rent is paid in advance so the last payment i made was on the 18th May.

Thanks payment date for this month is 25th and leaving date is 30th of next month, Although we will be out before this. She is basically saying she wants full £650 next month as well. I dont know wheter to just ignore her or what?0

The landlord is no doubt saying that she wants the £650 for next month, which is what you will give her on the 25th.

Sounds like you should be paying the rent in full on the 25th of this month and then you will also owe an additional one week's rent to take you to the 30th of June.
Have a look at your rental agreement and check the rent-payment dates to ensure they conincide with the date you took possession as they aren't always the same. Did you move into the property on the 24th of the month?0 -
Most rentals are paid at least one day before commencement of the month.....e.g move in on 30th of a particular month and pay at the latest the 29th, so it sounds ok to me0

tenancy agreements run for a fixed term and a fixed period - eg 6 months and one calendar month from 25th of one month to 24th of the next
A LL can quite legally ask you to pay for the next full months rent if you leave one day after the end of the rental period - ie if you leave after the 24th of the month....
so this landlord may be entitled to another full months rent, but, s/he may compromise by asking you for rent from 25th to your moving out date next month.0 -

As has been said above, if you moved in on the 25th, then you would have needed to give notice no later than the 24th of this month (yesterday) to leave on June 24th. Your last payment would then have been May 25th (today). The next date that you can legally end your tenancy is on July 24th. If you have given notice for a random date like June 30th, then yes, your LL can demand a full month's rent on June 25th. You then don't actually have to hand the keys back until July 24th.
Hopefully you can negotiate something with your LL. I'm also not sure what happens with your deposit, but unless your LL agrees to breaking the tenancy early, I don't think they have to consider you officially "gone" until the proper end date, ie July 24th - someone else hopefully knows more?0 -
