I would consider maybe visiting Lincoln, Skegness or Mablethorpe - all within an hour's driving time. Not many craft shops around here so Lincoln would be the best for that.
York is about 1hr 45mins from here... I'm actually going on Friday but I have been recommended to use the park & ride from the McArther Glen outlet centre. I've always driven into York in the past but it's sometimes hard to find cheap parking. I haven't looked into P&R prices yet though. There's 5 of us friends going and each would pay their own bus fare rather than just me paying for the car park ticket!

What are your children into? Boys or girls or one of each? What dates in July? I'll look out for things I see going on. Children (and me) break up for school hols on Thurs 22nd July.
I've been checking out Parking/P&R prices for my own use so might as well add here too.
York parking seems the same rate in all car parks...

Well the dates you are here will make it a little less busy for you. I remember going to The Parity a while ago and if it works out a good price/free for you then I'd say go. We don't tend to go there because of having to find parking in the town centre and the lack of meals we like on the 'specials' menu. Last time we went it was 2 meals for a fiver or something, not sure what the menu is like nowadays. We prefer to go to The Bradley for a 'pub meal' or the Weatherspoons which is a 2 minute walk from The Parity. Maybe save your vouchers for somewhere in York or Lincoln.
We have a nice leisure centre with a wave machine but you'd have to check the 'public opening times' as during term-time schools and clubs use it. Havestoe Park is quite nice as well as Cleethorpes Country Park.
Weelsby Woods is nice as well as Bradley Woods.
About a 20 minute drive away is a lovely small market town called Louth where Hubbard's Hills are, which is very popular for families. 90 children from year 5 in my school were there last Friday suposedly doing a 'river study' but they were all asked to take a small towel and a change of trousers to go in the river - there are stepping stones with a hand rail - it's fun really!
Applebys Ice cream is famous around here and there is usually a van selling it on the car park opposite McDonalds, KFC & the cinema as well as at Weelsby Woods. I don't know much about football apart from Grimsby Town have never played in Grimsby Town as their ground is in Cleethorpes and they are useless at football! They have just been demoted out of whatever league they were in.
There is a stock car stadium in Skegness. I've always wanted to go but have never got round to it. I used to go to the Demolition Derby when we had them in Cleethorpes on the site that is now Pleasure Island...

I used to visit Hubbards Hills, it was a favourite place for me and sisters! If it is a nice day, do take a picnic and pay a visit, it's lovely!
Oh and another vote here for Appleby's ice cream :-)I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
I've just looked on the Smith & Jones website at the Tesco Clubcard offer and not surprisingly you can't use it on special offers. I couldn't get the menus to download either. I really can't say if The Parity would be good value for money without the pub offers!DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

Hey LazyDaisy... The Applebys parlour/cafe/farm at Conisholme was up for sale last year! I don't know if it ever sold but there was a tiny part of me that was gutted at the thought of the whole business closing down! I'd love to meet any person from around here that never went out for the drive to Applebys for an ice cream as a kid - before the price of fuel became so high you can't afford to just go for drives!DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024
