    Hi there,

    For Tamworth eateries,

I can recommend the malt house restaurant, its very nice and they do good deals (3 courses for £10 that sort of thing), and they are very child friendly wwith an outside play area. if you put 'the malt house' into trip advisor you will see my review(!) and another one.

Also, the beefeater, ladybridge is very good. The early bird deals are good too. I think its £7.99 for 2 courses if you eat before 6.

THere is a harvester nearby too, as well as Yates's in the town who do 2 courses for £5.95, and I saw a new pub called Oliver's today which had good food deals, and looked nice.

    Hope you enjoy yourselves!

For Cleethorpes it has to be Steele's fish and chips - people travel from miles around for their fish n chips.

Cleethorpes... I don't know if you will have a car so sorry if I'm posting places you won't be able to travel to.

The Wellow (next to the cinema and 10-pin bowling) has just been refurbished and is now a 'Hungry Horse' pub so you could download a menu from the Hungry Horse website. Not been there yet as it's always been too busy - which is a good sign, I think! I live a 5 minute walk from it so I'm a local so to speak!

There is a pizza take-away that we use - too often if the truth be known. We go for the '2 pizzas for £6.50' deal but they do other deals to. Here's the address & postcode in case you have sat nav...
Verona Pizzeria 78 Hardys Road, Cleethorpes, South Humberside, DN35 0DW TEL: 01472 291221

When we want a carvery we go to the Hainton Inn which is actually in Grimsby but Grimsby and Cleethorpes are 'two towns in one'. It literally takes me 10 minutes to drive there. It is part of the 'Crown Carveries' chain so again, you could maybe look on their website. Excellent food for £3.99 (I think it's £3.99 - could be £3.75 or £3.50).
Hainton Inn Hainton Avenue, Grimsby, Lincolnshire, DN32 9RT

Oriental Express is an 'all you can eat' buffet which offers Chinese, Indian and English food. I can't remember the prices but it is cheaper before 5pm(ish) but I know it's in the region of £6 - £9. My budget doesn't stretch to it nowadays so it's been a while. It is opposite McDonalds, KFC & the bowling ally. It is set back on the beach side of the road but fairly easy to find.

There is a lot of Indian restaurants in the market place but I don't like spicy food so don't know what they are like. As LazyDaisy said Steels is in the market place too and is also excellent but again, out of our budget for a while. For take-away fish & chips I would go to Ernie Beckets which is down Market Street. We love a bag of chips on the sea front watching the boats on the river.

I'll stop for now but are you self catering because I can tell you where the supermarkets are also, will you have a car with you?

Yeah, The Trawlerman's ok (and closer in distance) but we go to the one we prefer.

lizalloareds, If you need groceries, there is a big Tesco (it has a 2nd floor for clothing and electrical) 2 miles from Thorpe Park at the end of North Sea Lane/Grimsby Rd...

    CLEETHORPES EXTRA,
    HEWITTS CIRCUS RETAIL PARK,
    CLEETHORPES,
    NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE,
    DN35 9QR

There is also an Asda (I used to work there until recently) but it would be a little more difficult to explain how to get there but it is about 4 miles from the caravan park so I'll give you the address in case you do have a sat nav...

    ASDA Supercentre store
    Holles Street
    Grimsby

There is a Morrisons, which I do like shopping in, but even though it is described as 'Morrisons Cleethorpes' it's too far for a 'I'm just popping out to get some milk'! It's probably about 8 miles from Humberston (which is where Thorpe Park is) but we do go there when we go to our favourite 'Sizzling Steak Pub' which is just accross the road...

Do you already have things to do planned? If you are thinking of going to Pleasure Island, make sure you go to the Tourist Information Office at the library to see if there are any discount vouchers. Pleasure Island is ok for the kids but don't expect 'Alton Towers'! It's certainly not worth paying full ticket price for.

Here's the link for the 'what's on guide' for our local newspaper...

I've lived here for 45 years so there's not much I can't tell you or find out for you.

Oh, just need to say that the '2 pizzas for £6.50' offer at the Verona Pizza place is only up until 7pm. Just wanted to let you know as I was in there last night at our usual time, just after 6pm, and spotted the offer time. ooopppsss sorry!
