have been quoted an extra £355 to add a single trip to bilboa , which doesnt sound too bad would save staying at dover and also staying overnight in france .0

We've been to the Vendee a few times going via Eurotunnel and returning via St Malo. Do you both drive? I tend to do most of the driving and arrive at the Vendee absolutely knackered, b ut return via St Malo. Much less driving but 6 hour crossing so Ferry costs more and less fuel costs. All in all it's more expensive travelling via St Malo but if I was coming from Manchester it would be a no brainer.
We'll both be driving, so the tiredness isn't a problem really. I think we've decided on driving and saving our airmiles :jWe'll drive down and cross, drive a bit, get rooms, then carry on the next day, I think. Way home might ferry back because by then we'll prob just want to get home!******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -

We go to France most Summers, and having tried lots of different ways, we now drive through the night to avoid traffic. It probably helps that we don't have to go straight back to work when we get home, and also that my DH can exist on next to no sleep. We have a nap during the day, get the tunnel at about 10pm, then drive either to the Alps or to the South of France stopping for a nap in a service station if we need to. I know it's not for everyone, but it works for us, and means that we avoid the hideous traffic jams we have been stuck in in the past!0

You're booking way too late for this year! Price only goes one way! We have everything booked in Jan usually.0 -
What about flying Ryanair to Beziers, just along the road from Serignan Plage, and hiring a car?0
-
we did look at that but we are going to Eurodisney on way back so really need car , so that was thinking of gettng one way ferry to bilboa (quoted £355) and driving to serignan and on way back overnight stop , then eurodisney and then ferry back from calais.
The option i think really is either (on way to serignan) ferry to calais or bilboa.
Really not sure still0 -

The price for a return (£540) hasn't altered at all in the months and months I've been checking it, so we wouldn't have saved anything by booking it early.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -
