By using the T-Mobile dial-up WAP number. It probably wouldn't work if you tried to use the wrong network's GPRS settings.alf wrote:How is it possible to use T-mobile Wap on an O2 sim?0 -

That e-mail address is provided for customers to [supposedly] contact Charles Dunstone. Now, I don't accept that he would provide his personal company e-mail address so it can be flooded with enquiries/complaints from customers. Indeed, I Googled email cpw.co.uk and several pages with different employees' CPW e-mail addresses on came up. From what I've seen, they are of the form lastnamefirstinitial {at} cpw.co.uk. So John Smith will be smithj {at} cpw.co.uk. So I would email dunstonec {at} cpw.co.ukCumbrian_Male wrote:complain to Charles Dunstone cdunstone@cpw.co.uk about the shop not setting your phone up correctly.
That's what I was getting at above. WAP settings for different providers are here. If the phone has GPRS, it has probably tried to connect to T-Mobile's GPRS whilst on O2. When that fails it will use dial-up.Welliesorter wrote:By using the T-Mobile dial-up WAP number. It probably wouldn't work if you tried to use the wrong network's GPRS settings.
According to the page I linked to, the dial-up number for T-Mobile is +447953968999, so this will, presumably, come up as a cross network call on an O2 bill.0 -
SUCCESS!!!! I have just returned form CPW (my local store) where I eventually got someone who knew what they were doing. I called the Cust. Services again from the store and presented them and the branch manager with the threads discussed in this forum.
The CPW Cust. Services investigated this whilst on the phone and now believe that my GPRS has a 'bug' or that my sim card has been 'bugged'. They dispute the fact that the settings changed by them have anything to do with the mishap but have agreed to re-calculate the bill, removing all costs associated with my GPRS data. They believ it is unlukely that the T-Mobile cross network charges are the problem as the bill states the charges relate to "wapO2.co.uk" and that the settings on my phone are indeed set up for O2.
They are investigating a number of 'bugged' sim cards and would not give details of what this means... I dont really mind that though as long as my charges have been recalculated.
Phone is now re-activated and I will be reimbursed for all my 0870 calls and surcharge for cancelling direct debit...
At last. Top tip for any future complainers, the cpw e-mail adress is (although unlikely to be charles himself) a good route as they were in the middle of investigating my claim when I rang. CPW in store are powerless to do much at all so always call the call centre using the saynoto0870 route and aske to speak to the most senior person. Obvious advice but hey.0 -
Result glad you got some sense in the end.I have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.0
