CALL HOME WHILE IN SPAIN FOR 4p

Anyone nipping overseas to Spain can call home for a price from 4 euro cents (under 3p) a minute (varies with time and call) without any calling cards. It works the same way as the 'no access' cheap calls providers detailed in the Call Checker just the other way round.

remember that those listed apply to calling from a normal landline.
Calls from a hotel room may cost a lot more.

appears calls from payphones are between 8-15c ppm
( still competitve )

I've just had a thorough look through the DialAbroad Spain web site and tried it out from Spain, I got through first time with crystal clear quality: unbelievable, this service is great!

In reply to the earlier post, it looks like they are going to launch in DialAbroad Italy soon too.

Sorry PhilCCFC you got it wrong. it is off peak and there is a 16% IVA. also there is a connection charge. Am reproducing a part of the website for everybodys benefit.

So, Telefonica's connection charge is really €0.097 and the additional DialabroadSpain costs are €0.047 per minute off peak and €0.078 per minute peak.

As an example, a 5 minute call to the UK would cost:

€0.33 between 2000 and 0800;
€0.49 between 0800 and 2000.

Does anyone know if this applies to Tenerife? Does it apply when using their public phone boxes? (The web site refers to phone bills)

Anyone know if it works for companies other than Telefonica. My son lives in the Basque Country and uses the local competition to Telefonica, which is Euskotel.
