stardrops in a vax?

  • I'm a recent stardrops convert after finally finding some in Sainsburys! Tried Tesco, Asda, Wilkinsons etc but no joy there - maybe a regional thing

I washed my windows yesterday with it, using a microfibre cloth, and they come up perfect, no streaks etc and no need to rinse off or use newspaper :D

I've cleaned just about everything in my house with them now, including the oven, and they're brilliant :T :T :T

Thanks for the tip about the salt instead of the conditioner to kill the suds. I use stardrops in my cylinder vax but am running out of cheapo conditioner. I refuse to use my Aveda :rotfl:

Also, thanks for reminding me to get the vax out and clean the carpets - I knew there was something I had to do today :D
  • i use washing powder in my vax...... brings carpets up lovely...
does my bum look big in this sig?
  • Probably a very silly question, but - as I don't have a Vax but do have a steamer (for carpets etc not food!) could I use stardrops in that? I usually just use water, steam away, then let the carpet dry. There is no suction on the steamer but I wondered if it would be a cheap way to clean the carpet.
    Anyone tried this?

we have a vax upright cleaner with a seperate washing fluid container that mixes the solution automatically.
Has anyone used stardrops with this type of setup?
if so do just put in neat star drops or dilute it and/or any other stuff (conditioner etc)

    Thanks

This is exactly what I want to know too :D

The vax solution is ok but our carpets never come up quite how I'd like.

If it is possible to use with an upright vax with seperate solution tank what ratio should I use? I'm really excited to do the carpets now (omg how sad is that :o) especially as I have a brand spanking new bottle of stardrops :D

i was thinking of just puttin neat stardrops in the seperate tank
as i think that it gives a 9:1 ratio

now not sure if i put the tablespoon of salt and or fabric conditioner in the waste water container or the hot water container?

I'm pretty sure the salt or conditioner will go in the waste water container, at least thats what I'll do :o although glad I came back to read this because I'd already forgot about the salt/conditioner and would of had a right mess to deal with

I'm not sure I'm brave enough to put neat stardrops in the soap tank... I might just try 50/50 for now. I don't want to be rinsing it out of my carpets for hours lol. Also I think I'll just try it on the hall first as thats probably the grubbiest carpet.

The bottle says for carpets use dilute 45ml in 500ml of water which works out at roughly the same ratio so maybe i will give it ago tomorrow

I tried a 50/50 mix in the shampoo tank with 1/2 a cap of fabric softer in the waste water tank and it worked fine. The waste water had barely any bubbles at all so that works and the carpet came up lovely :D So tomorrow my mission is to wash the living room carpet and give the hall another go over (it's the grubbiest carpet with all the feet in and out)

I'm really pleased with it and it'll save me a fortune on the vax solution :T
