At nearly 19 years old what should my priorities be?

    try looking and ETFs ive got a lot of my money in these specifically asia pacific,BRIC and Fossil Fuel/Precious metal funds through barclays stockbrokers and since i bought them 3 years they have gained considerably in value and are still gaining.

    Thanks bengal but thats not for me yet. Opened a current account paying 5% on the first £2.5k. Right now i have about £100 in my current account, payday a week tomorrow. Im going to build up 2.5k in that and then maintain it at that balance. Or look to get a current account paying 5% upto 6k. Think LLoyds do this.

    4% gross between 5k and 7k

    To put AER's into perspective, you could have made 6% tax free if you'd bought M&S on 24/5 and sold on 28/5 (ignoring trading costs).

    lol. Only a complete fool would just save and not see the world.

    I went abroad alot when i was 19 for months at a time.

    Only live once. You can't 'buy' your youth back.

    I don't how ppl can save 'thousands;.

    MOST ppl just survive on thier wages. What;s the trick?

    Well iv decided that little bit at a time im getting into shares...direct debit set up, plus can add in a bit more here an there when im more flush, itl all soon add up and a few years down the line il hopefully have a good return for my money, some good growth. Now id like to maximise my earnings. So much ideas :)

    Any tips on who to invest in? Speaking small sums but had a few payments into shares account. Got some m and s ones.....

    Also any ideas for stuff to sell on ebay/making money in the evenings/on a weekend. Bar work/waiter is a nono!
