Cost of new sim card reader for Blackberry?

After DH terminated Mr B by trying to get the sim card out with a nail file (I don't know why - he's an engineer :oand he only admitted to it after Vodfone said they wouldn't fix it as it was physically damaged:mad:), I was wondering would it be worth my while paying for a new sim card reader before selling it on. Its a Blackberry Bold 9000, good phone but now knackered:(. I know I can get £100 for it. Any ideas?

It depends what part you damaged. If it is the bit that slides out, then it is very cheap to order the replacement part, but you may find it beyond your ability to replace it. If it is the actual part attatched to the main board, it is a much more difficult (and expensive) job, because you've got to take the phone wholly apart, and in some cases replace the majority of the main board.

You could go get a quote from your local market trader/independent phone shop, and if it is anything less than £20-£30, personally I would get it fixed, because you'll probably find that is around how much less the phone will sell for with the fault.
