After it got down to 9 today, I put £35 diesel in, it went up to 275, I drove 2 miles and it went to 275, parked up and waited 10 mins for OH, switched on and it went to 348 (had been parked on a slight incline), then went all over the place and settled to 274.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -
The Mondeo also has 4 Litres "Hidden" from the fuel gauge, the owners manual calls it a "Hidden Reserve" So when the gauge is at empty and the range meter reads zero there is still 4 Litres (About 1 Gallon) left in reserve, so depending on driving style / conditions you can work out roughly how far you can go, bearing in mind you will be dragging in all the rubbish and gunk from the bottom of the tank!
The Jaguar Diesels which are based on the Mondeo also has an electronic misfire feature (Not sure if they carried this over to the Mondeo), where when you get to this last galllon the car starts to electronically simulate a misfire to "Encourage" you to find a fuel station. (The built in Satnav also starts flashing all the local petrol stations on the screen)Over 100k miles of Electric Motoring and rising,0
